* Who are you?
John McDonald
    * Where are you?
Seattle WA, USA
    * What company do you work for?
EmeriCon, LLC
    * Are you an SOA practitioner?
Yes, I think so.
    * Do you twitter?
No
    * Whats your feeling about Business Integration and where we’re headed?
I started working with FlowMark, prior to GA and have worked extensively with FlowMark, WMQWF, and now Process Server (never did much with Server Foundation). I am a huge believer in Business Integration, however, my primary focus has always been on the workflow piece. I think that the process capabilites found within WPS should finally bring about the revolution that I have always thought was possible with this technology.

Hi Arnold,

I like to akin the question of "Which ESB should I use?" to "Which brand of cornflakes cereal do you like the most?". IE: Everyone will have their own completely passionate, reasonable and compelling argument about why they're right. Of course, they doesn't preclude me from voicing my opinion :-) I'll get on that.

As for the article highlighting, you totally caught me. I do that on slow days when I don't have anything off the top of my head to share.

I really like your opinion of BI. Point #2 is something that I haven't actively thought about, but suffer the consequences of constantly.

As the industry introduces higher and higher levels of abstraction for solutions, business are placing higher levels of trust in the abilities of the product developers and vendor support organizations to resolve issues.

What do you do when the black box you use behaves in an unexpected way? You can't expect the user to know enough to solve the problem.

Anyways, thanks for stopping by Arnold!

* Who are you? - Arnold Shoon
    * Where are you? - Depends on the day of the week but weekends are spent either in Toronto or Colombia
    * What company do you work for? - Perficient
    * Are you an SOA practitioner? - I would like to think yes
    * Do you have any topic suggestions? - which IBM 'esb' should I use!
    * Likes/Dislikes about the blog - sometimes they only highlight another article but do not discuss your application of said article.
    * Do you twitter? - No
    * Whats your feeling about Business Integration and where we’re headed? - The capabilities are getting more advanced however 1) we're still solving the same problem as 20 years ago and 2) the business is spending too much money on maintenance vs. new applications

Hi Chris,

I completely agree with you, that as practitioners in the field, it would help immensely to be able to see the PMRs reported by other customers. I really dislike the perception that IBM attempts to create that "your issue" is the only one in existence.

I spend way too much of my time and my clients time performing product QA work rather than delivering business value. If IBM is going to put the onus on me to debug my own issues then I think it's only fair to let me know what the 'latest-to'date' issues are.

As for your comment about providing a voice that it independent of IBM, being a Perficient employee means that I'm still right under their thumb should I say anything that doesn't meet approval. My quandary is how I'm going to deal with it.

Anyway, stay in touch. They only way we'll survive is by Uniting :-)

Who are you? Chris Holding
Where are you? U.K.
What company do you work for? Complete Integration Solutions Ltd
Are you an SOA practitioner? Yes
Do you have any topic suggestions? Hot PMR's we should know about?
Likes/Dislikes about the blog I think it is good to get issues into the open independently of IBM resources
Do you twitter? Not sure!
Whats your feeling about Business Integration and where we’re headed? Advanced tools should be making it easier but it does not seem that way.
